Happened to catch Maranamass on SonyLiv yesterday.
I had zero expectations regarding the movie as I wasn’t aware of it at all! Somehow YouTube never showed me its trailers so I had no clue.
Starring “Angry Young Star” Basil Joseph, and produced by Tovino Thomas and directed by debutant Sivaprasad, this was a fun watch! I absolutely enjoyed it and found myself laughing out loud at a lot of moments. It’s one of those movies of situations going wrong (takes a while to get there with all the characters converging to the main plot device) and is taken in this dark comedy/ satirical way. Highly recommended.
Also highly recommended, but no point creating a separate blog post for it, is “A Real Pain” directed by the supremely talented Jesse Eissenberg and starring himself and Keiran Culkin. It’s a bittersweet movie, with some amazing performances and I loved it. It’s set in Poland, which looks very beauiful by the way. Must visit it sometime. (I’ve only been to Warsaw for a few days for work, so haven’t really been there).
