Googled on this today and didn’t come across any solutions. It’s pretty straightforward and maybe no one’s ever asked the question 😱 but just in case someone else Googles on this here’s a blog post to save you some time.
I have a SharePoint list with a column containing choices. I like choices coz they make things colourful (plus it’s helpful to give a dropdown for someone to select rather than make them type; but I mainly like it for the colours 😄). I wanted to make a new list and was hoping there’d be some easy way of copying the choices from the first list to the other. Here’s what I ended up doing.
Go to the List Settings of the first list. Under Columns, click on the column with choices. There’s a text box with all the choices. Copy that, paste into the same place on the new list… and that’s it!
This only gives you the choices, not the colours. For that go back to the same place you copied the choices from… and if you scroll down there’s a box with formatting. Copy that, paste into the same box on the new list, boom!
