This is so exciting! Something I’ve wanted Firefox to be able to do for so long.
I use the synced tabs feature in Firefox a lot. All my Firefox instances are on the same account, and often when I am on a mobile device and want to read something later I just send it from Firefox there to my other Firefoxes. Only problem being, I usually send it to more than one Firefox instance (laptop and desktop) just so I don’t miss it if I only login to one of these platforms the following day, but if I then read the tab on one of these Firefox instances and close it, it stays open in the other instance and so often I have a bunch of tabs that I have already read and must remember to close.
If only I had a way of closing tabs remotely! This is even been requested on Mozilla Connect.
This was one of the only reasons I even looked at browsers like Arc, coz it seemed to have a cloud tabs feature – but I don’t like that coz I want the tabs to be independent and local to the browser, I just want the ability to remotely close one the same way I can remotely open one by sending it to a browser instance.
Today, however, I see that option is available.
Click the “x” and that tab closes on the remote device. 🤘🥳🕺
